When a Student Wants to Take a Break
Sometimes a student will say that she can't meet for a certain period of time, but she wants to continue after that. For example, she is going on vacation or has a series of tests coming up and will be too busy studying. When this happens, you have two choices: you can either tell the student that she will have to choose a new coach when she returns and remove her from your list, or you can update your student's status to “On Break” and retain her as your student. It is recommended that you keep the student and if you want more hours of work, simply increase your capacity (tell your manager that you want to accept more students).
Below are detailed instructions how to put a student on break. Please note that a student should never be put on break for more than 3 months. If a student is not able to meet with you for 3 months, you should have her removed from your list, and she can be matched with a coach when she returns. Matching her with you at that point may be possible, but cannot be guaranteed.
