Supervision is a regularly scheduled, supportive meeting between you and your coach manager, designed to help you thrive in your coaching role. These meetings occur every six weeks and form a vital part of your student support process.
What Happens During the Meeting
Your manager will review each student, discuss their progress, and offer feedback. The conversation will reflect the same supportive, growth-oriented approach you use with your own students—often asking, “What's going well? What can we work on together for next time?”
Meetings typically follow a structured checklist to ensure all key areas are addressed:
Discussion Points
Learning Review: How students engage with their learning experience/s.
Next Steps: Opportunities for upcoming trips, immersive experiences, or new resources for students.
Resource Utilization: How are you connecting students to local families, experiences, or broader community resources?
Administrative Needs: Are your reports and notes up to date? Any scheduling or logistical concerns? Do you have capacity/workload concerns that need to be addressed? Are you going on Mat leave, vacation?
