Souled Partnerships and Student Referrals
Souled students primarily come from three sources: advertising, Olami Next, and referrals from mekarvim/vos or partnering organizations.
Advertising
Souled runs ads on social media platforms. Currently, the primary platform where Souled ads are running is Instagram. The ads are clear that Souled is about getting personalized coaching for Jewish growth. You can see some examples of ads that have run here.
Olami Next
Olami Next is the name of the Olami team that is responsible for recruiting young Jewish men and women into Olami programs around the world. Olami Next has a call center that reaches out to thousands of people every year. Generally, these people have previously participated in Olami events or programs, but they are not currently engaged in one.
Referrals from Mekarvim/vos and Partnering Organizations
Many kiruv organizations around the world do not have enough human resources to give one-on-one attention to the young women who participate in their programming. Part of Souled's mission is to act as a resource for these programs, providing that one-on-one connection, and reinforcing the program's in-person efforts to impact the student. Souled has a dedicated web page that explains this to potential partners, and the Operations Director will liaise with organizations.
Mekarvim/vos and organizations that send students to Souled receive a special link to use, which allows us to track where each student is coming from. The partner is able to see the progress of their students in a special dashboard that they are provided. For partners sending a significant number of students, Souled may provide a dedicated Souled Coach for their students. These “hybrid” coaches sometimes make themselves available for periodic in-person participation with their students. They also meet regularly with the partner organization to share feedback and strategize about how to impact the students in the best possible way.
Understanding Where Your Students Came From
When a new student chooses you as her coach, you receive an email with details about your first meeting:

When you click on the Student Info button, you will be taken to the PowerBI Student Info page for that student. On that page, you can see if the student was referred by an advertisement, Olami Next (it will say “Call Center”), or a partner referral. Here are some examples:

Current Partner Programs
Below is a list of the partner programs that are currently sending students to Souled. If you have any students who are referred by one of these partners, it is important that you understand the program as the context for the student's participation in Souled.
JGO – Jewish Graduate Organization
JGO is a national movement for Jewish graduate students and alumni. Their mission is to support Jewish life on graduate campuses and to connect Jewish grads and alumni to their heritage and the wider Jewish community. JGO runs cohorts during the Spring called the “Sloan Fellowship” program. Each cohort has approximately 175 students, half of whom are women.
The program consists of 8-10 classes in basic Jewish principles of Judaism. Leah Posner is the Olami Next liaison who will be calling each student and offering him/her to continue their studies with a one-on-one partner with Souled.
Important: When Leah calls the students, she tells them that they are invited to participate in an extension of the fellowship – they are not being told that they are joining Souled. Leah will tell them that the person they are being matched with works for a program called Souled, and she will be registering the student for Souled and matching them with a coach using the Souled signup, but the student will not be receiving any emails from Souled. In other words, we are putting them in the system for the sake of making it more organized, but they are not really Souled students. Our hope is that after meeting with a Souled coach a few times, they will want to “join” Souled and continue in the program.
JGO requested that the Souled coaches not try to pitch Souled to the student in the first meeting. From meeting two on, however, it is encouraged, since the goal is to get them to continue after the four mandatory meetings.
Reminder when you pitch Souled to discuss: Library, Portal, Sunday Specials, Souled Circles, WhatsApp community, and most importantly, opportunities for trips.
Reminder to do a walk-through in the portal and let them know they are part of the Souled community! They had a seamless transition from JGO, so they do not receive a welcome letter or info on the portal.
The student might say that she wants to finish the JGO curriculum with you. If not, you can choose any subject with her, as you would with any student who joins Souled.

Batya's programs give teens the opportunity to explore the wonder within themselves, building enduring relationships and developing a true sense of pride and identity as a person and as a Jew.

Batya Girls is referring students to Souled as a follow-up to their program.

NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connecting, inspiring, and empowering Jewish teens and encouraging passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition. NCSY is referring students to Souled as a follow-up to their high school programming. These students are typically 18-19-year-old girls who are graduating from high school.
