As described here, the Souled journey is designed to impact each student through relationships, learning, and experiences. One of the most critical components to this recipe for success is trips. Getting a group of motivated students together for a week (or more) long experience away from home is the best way to move students from inspiration to commitment. Below are some of the details of the process of getting your students onto trips.

Meet Rivki!

Souled Student Experience Coordinater, Rivki Freedman, is the point person for everything related to trips. Rivki conducts regular info sessions to update the Souled Coaches about upcoming trips, and then follows up with each coach to find out if any of your students are good candidates. For all trip-related questions, you can always reach out to her. rfreedman@olami.org

The portal “Experiences” page

Upcoming trips are also displayed in the portal, on the Experiences page. This allows students to discover opportunities and reach out for more details.

Olami Subsidies

In order to encourage trips and make them affordable for students, Olami offers subsidies. Below are some general guidelines regarding what subsidies exist and what the process is for receiving them:

Trips in the US

If a student is attending a trip in the US that is at least one week long, Olami offers to pay for the flight. This is called the "North American M2" The student applies for this after being accepted to the trip.

Israel Trips

The Israel M2 is for a student traveling to a program in Israel any where from 3 weeks to 3 months.

Long term seminary scholarship

The AY scholarship is a stipend for students going to Israel for more than 3 months. This gives them a $1500 flight subsidy. For students who are there for 3 to 6 months, they are given $100/month stipend in addition to the flight subsidy. If they are going to Israel for 7 to 12 months, they will receive $150 per month in addition to the flight subsidy. After Souled submits their scholarship request, they will receive a letter from Olami explaining the terms of the scholarship. In this letter, they will be connected with Olami's travel agent and the student coordinates the flight directly with him.

For more information or any questions about the trips, sems, or to determine who is a candidate, just throw time on Rivki's calendar!
